While you see a variety of training plans listed below (A1, B1, C1, etc.), your specific plan will be determined at the beginning of your first class by your instructor. They will assess your needs and choose the most suitable plan for your group’s language level.

The CEWP program (Canada’s Enhanced Workplace Program) is designed to provide English language training for Canadian public servants. It encompasses proficiency levels A, B, and C, with corresponding materials tailored to each level.

Training Objectives (TOs)

Level A (TO 01–25)

Covered in Workbooks 1 to 3 (Interface Canada):

  • TO 01: Introduce yourself and greet colleagues.
  • TO 02: Use polite expressions for basic interactions (e.g., please, thank you).
  • TO 03: Answer simple yes/no and WH-questions.
  • TO 04: Express basic needs or preferences (e.g., “I need help with this”).
  • TO 05: Ask and answer questions about time, dates, and schedules.
  • TO 06: Provide and request simple information (e.g., names, locations).
  • TO 07: Describe familiar objects or situations using basic vocabulary.
  • TO 08: Understand and respond to simple instructions.
  • TO 09: Use basic workplace-related terms in context.
