Courses & Test Preparation

Specialized language training for the public service

Language training that feels guided, human, and SLE-ready.

Knowledge Circle connects the right plan, the right instructor, and the right pace so Government of Canada employees can progress in French or English, from true beginner foundations to advanced SLE preparation.

SLE preparation Group and individual training Since 1994
Training that starts with the learner’s reality. Beginner, busy manager, or advanced learner: the path adapts to the level, role, and deadline.

Choose the right training path.

Each need calls for a different response: an employee preparing for a test, a manager or HR team organizing training, a group to launch, oral skills to strengthen, or written expression and reading comprehension to improve.

Which need looks most like yours? The best training starts with the right entry point. Choose a path, then we confirm the level, format, and pace.
Employee I need to start, rebuild, or maintain my level. Placement assessment, a clear plan, French or English training, and targeted preparation for SLE requirements. Beginners are supported by bilingual instructors with content adapted in both languages. Request an assessment
Manager / HR I need to organize training for a team. Level placement, group creation, schedules, onboarding, pedagogical follow-up, and simplified coordination. Plan training
B/C oral I need to prepare for the oral evaluation. Simulations, fluency, response strategy, interaction, stress management, and Level C expectations. Request SLE preparation
Writing / Reading I need writing or reading comprehension support. Written expression, grammar, reading comprehension, strategy, speed, and accuracy. Request writing or reading support
A1
Beginners and true beginners are fully included. In individual or group training, they are supported by bilingual instructors with content adapted in French and English.
From A1 to C3, the training plan changes in depth. A1 builds true beginner foundations. A2 and A3 build confidence. The B pathways target communication, reading, writing, and oral readiness. C2 and C3 become intensive preparation for Level C performance.
A1 Beginner foundations Introduce oneself, listen, repeat, build first habits, and gain confidence.
A2-A3 Confidence and communication Build sentences, questions, interaction, and progressive autonomy.
B1-B3 Targeted B skills Prepare oral, reading, and writing with strategy, accuracy, and pace.
C2-C3 Level C performance Structure abstract, nuanced, professional answers under evaluation pressure.
What makes a Knowledge Circle plan different?

The plan is not just a list of lessons. It connects the official objective, activities, instructor feedback, between-class practice, and visible progress follow-up.

  • Clear official objective
  • Guided activities
  • Instructor feedback
  • Progress follow-up
Explore the training plans
Generalize Move beyond a personal case and explain the broader idea.
Structure State the answer and follow a clear logical path.
Add nuance Show conditions, limits, and impact.
Interact Handle follow-up questions without losing the thread.

The Level C challenge

Level C requires a different way to build an answer, not just more vocabulary.

After two or three attempts, effort is rarely the issue. Federal employees may still answer like advanced learners when the evaluator expects structured, general, nuanced responses, even under pressure.

Our specialized instructors teach that shift directly: state the answer early, build a logical path, move from concrete to abstract, and stay in control during follow-up questions.

Training formats

One clear need. One format that fits.

Training can be individual, group-based, or department-wide. The common thread is the same: a clear level, an understandable plan, and follow-up that helps the learner move forward.

1:1
Individual training For a beginner, a targeted need, a close deadline, or advanced preparation.
Targeted
GRP
Group classes For learning with a cohort, a clear schedule, and bilingual instructors when the level requires it.
Cohort
DEP
Department programs For HR teams: placement, group creation, schedules, onboarding, and pedagogical follow-up.
Coordinated
We manage the complexity of large-scale group training. Group sessions start several times per year. Our role is to make that launch simple for HR teams, managers, and learners.

Exclusive digital tools

Between sessions, the learner keeps moving.

Digital tools do not replace the instructor. They extend feedback: repeat, listen, answer, rebuild, and return to the next session with more clarity.

EZ-B
Level B foundations Support to consolidate communication before Level C.

Practice between sessions Tools turn instructor feedback into short, focused exercises learners can repeat.
EZ-C Level C oral answers: abstraction, structure, nuance.
EZ-B Consolidate foundations before higher-level goals.
EZ-Reading Reading comprehension, strategy, and speed.
Big Bad C Understand why C remains difficult after several attempts.
