About this assessment

The Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) has requested a French written expression assessment as part of its internal assessment process.

To provide a complete picture of your written French skills, the assessment includes two mandatory parts: Part 1: Language Use and Part 2: Written Production.

Together, these two parts help evaluate your accuracy, grammar, vocabulary, organization, clarity, and ability to write professionally in French.

Important: Both parts are mandatory

This assessment includes two required parts. You must complete and submit Part 1: Language Use and Part 2: Written Production. Your assessment will be considered complete only after both parts have been submitted.

Assessment overview

Please complete the two parts in order. Start with Part 1: Language Use, then continue immediately with Part 2: Written Production.

Part 1 – Language Use

You will answer questions related to French grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary, and correct language use.

  • Time allowed: 45 minutes
  • Format: language-use questions
  • Purpose: accuracy, structure, grammar and vocabulary
Part 2 – Written Production

You will write a short professional email in French in response to a workplace situation.

  • Time allowed: 30 minutes
  • Recommended length: 180–220 words
  • Purpose: clarity, organization, coherence and professional tone

Important instructions

  • Please complete Part 1 first, then complete Part 2.
  • Both parts are mandatory.
  • Complete the assessment independently.
  • Do not use translation tools, grammar correction tools, AI tools, or external assistance.
  • Use French only when answering the assessment questions and writing your response.
  • Once you submit an assessment part, you may not be able to return to change your answers.
  • Make sure you have enough uninterrupted time before starting each part.
